• Advanced Licence

  Advanced licences enable the use of all commands and features of WinFPT and FPT, including all of the specialised commands for migration from Gould-SEL and VMS systems and for software testing. Advanced licences are perpetual; they have no time limit.

  An advanced licence is required to use:

  • DATAPOOL handling features often required for migration and analysis of Gould-SEL programs.
  • Translation of ISAM (Indexed Sequential) file handling.
  • Automatic creation of an interactive environment which allows variables to be inspected and changed at run-time.
  • Coverage analysis.
  • Regression testing facilities: Run-time Trace and Record-Replay.
  • Checking of physical units and dimensions.

• Professional Licence

  Professional licences support all of the analysis and software engineering facilities in WinFPT and FPT except for those listed above. A professional licence is expected to meet the needs of most software engineering projects. Professional licences are perpetual.

• Analysis Licence

  Analysis licences provide:

  • All of the analysis and report generation facilities except for the analysis of physical units and dimensions.
  • Reformatting of code.
  • Automatic renaming of variables and editing of variable names.
  • The security features, which remove comments and rename variables with meaningless names without changing the behaviour of the compiled code.

  The analysis licence is provided for users who need to analyses their code for errors and anomalies, but who intend to carry out most code maintenance by hand. Analysis licences are perpetual.

• Academic Licence

  Academic licences provide the same facilities as professional licences, and are available to academic institutions for academic use. WinFPT and FPT licensed under an academic licence may be used only for teaching and for academic research. These licences are granted for a period of one year, but may be extended by purchasing further licences. Please note that academic institutions which use WinFPT and FPT for commercial projects must purchase commercial licences.

• Academic Analysis Licence

  Academic analysis licences provide the same facilities as commercial analysis licences, and are available to academic institutions for academic use. WinFPT and FPT licensed under an academic analysis licence may be used only for teaching and for academic research. These licences are granted for a period of one year, but may be extended by purchasing further licences. Please note that academic institutions which use WinFPT and FPT for commercial projects must purchase commercial licences.

• Student Licence

  Student licences are analysis licences which are available to students who are studying for an academic degree or qualification. Student licences are granted for a period of one year, and this period may be extended by purchasing further licences while the licensee remains a student. Student licences may be used for teaching and research only.

All WinFPT and FPT licences are issued subject to the SimCon licensing policy. Licences allow the use of both WinFPT and of FPT on all supported hosts.

Please note that the WinFPT and FPT software may be moved freely between computers and may be installed on any supported host, but may be used only by the number of licensed users. For multi-user licences, note that the number of users is the number of individuals who will use WinFPT and FPT during any one month.

• A telephone contact number.
• Your company name or the name of your academic institution.
• Your location.
• For an academic licence, your university department.
• For a student licence, the degree or qualification for which you are studying.

We will e-mail a permanent or a student licence key to you on receipt of your order.
